KFC Golf Scholarship 2019
NZPWG want to thank KFC for their continued sponsorship of the KFC Golf Scholarship.
Auckland golf professional Phillis Meti will be aided in defending her title at the 2019 World Long Drive Championships after becoming the recipient of the 2019 KFC Golf Scholarship.
The scholarship awarded a total of $14,000 in funds for 2019 – the largest amount given away to date.
Helping to further the golfing careers of young New Zealand women, the scholarship aims to create opportunities to allow golfers to attend qualifying school, play on tour or develop their coaching career.
Joining Phillis as a recipient of the KFC Golf Scholarship is 26-year-old Aucklander, Munchin Keh, who has received the 2019 NZPWG Fellowship. The $5,000 fellowship will assist Munchin to attend LPGA Qualifying School later this year.
Munchin completed her second season on the Chinese Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour (CLPGA) with three top 10 finishes in 2018, finishing 10th on their order of merit. Munchin recently placed joint-second at the New South Wales Women’s Open in March, which was her best finish on the ALPG Tour. Her ALPG season ended on a high, placing her 9th on their order of merit.
NZPWG want to wish both of our KFC Golf Scholarship recipients all the very best throughout 2019.
We will obviously be keeping everyone updated as to how they both progress.
